Sand Shark Bracelet
Sand Shark Bracelet - Marine Debris Awareness Bracelet
This net was diligently removed from the water preventing further harm to marine life due to the kind and selfless actions taken by the Cucinotta Family (The Sea to Shore Alliance)
"This is why we are so passionate about our H2O: Healthy Habitats and Oceans program. These boaters happened upon a derelict net floating offshore of SE Florida this weekend and pulled it in to their boat to remove it. In it they found part of what looked like a bonita and this dead shark seen in the video. Please pay attention. Discarded/lost nets are never GONE. They go on to "ghost fish" in the environment and can strangle innocent animals such as sharks, fish, turtles, and whales for decades if not longer. " - Katelyn Cucinotta
Sharks can become entangled in a variety of fishing equipment and other nets. There are "shark nets" designed to keep sharks out of populated beaches from tourists who fear them. The thought seems to be good idea at first but in all actuality these nets can become hazards for sharks, whales, turtles, and other marine animals. The results are not conclusive whether these nets are 100% effective anyway. They do not reach the bottom and can break loose, allowing sharks to swim under and over the nets. Planet Love Life believes that all sharks are a vital part of the marine ecosystem and should be respected as such.
Our bracelets are handcrafted from recycled marine rope debris collected during beach cleanup projects. Each piece of salvaged rope is unique with slight variations in color and condition, caused by natural weathering. All bracelets are 100% waterproof. Join us in supporting this important cause by helping spread awareness of marine debris and its negative impacts on the environment.
Each bracelet purchased helps keep our oceans clean & represents the life of a marine animal saved from entanglement.
